St. Paul the Apostle School is a parish, coeducational, K-8 school in Los Angeles, California serving students through the charisms of the Paulist Fathers and the Daughters of Mary and Joseph.  St. Paul’s is seeking an enthusiastic and engaging educator to teach math and science for the 2017-18 school year.  The ideal candidate will be comfortable teaching Common Core State Standards in Math, be able to implement differentiated lessons in the classroom, and be familiar with 5th grade science standards and methodologies.  The position also includes one period of religion.  The instructor will be expected to collaborate effectively with colleagues and develop engaging, inquiry-based lessons that implement available resources and technology.


Bachelor’s degree in Math or Science;  3 or more years teaching experience including math and science; Excellent planning, teaching, and assessment skills; Knowledge of current trends in math and science education; Familiarity with Common Core State Standards and Next Generation Science Standards; Experience using instructional technology; An ability to convey enthusiasm for the subjects of Math and Science; Strong classroom management strategies; Willingness to teach and model the Catholic faith

Desirable qualities:

Credential in Mathematics/Science or Multiple Subject Credential with emphasis in Math courses;  MA in Education and/or Math/Science subject areas; Experience teaching at the middle school level; Catholic school teaching experience​​
