Position Summary:

Will perform a variety of routine general office clerical work in support of the Purchasing/Mail Center department.

Duties And Responsibilities:

Because all Archdiocesan employees represent the Roman Catholic Church, they are expected to conduct themselves according to the goals and mission of the Church in performing their work.

• Sorts, distributes, and processes mail and UPS packages.
• Responsible for assembling general mailings, including copying, folding, stuffing, stapling, and addressing.
• Responsible for distributing office supplies.
• Photocopies, collates, and staples reports, memos, etc.
• Sorts and files various records, reports, memos, etc.
• Cleans and maintains office equipment.
• Performs various clerical backup duties as necessary.
• Refurbishes supplies for copiers.
• May report office equipment problems to service personnel.
• May perform routine data posting and records maintenance work.
• May serve as messenger.
• Responsible for replenishing paper supply.
• Inputs on computer and performs routine typing.
• Assists in formulation and execution of Purchasing policies.
• Prepares packages for mailing/UPS and supply orders for deliveries to be made.
• Performs related duties as required.


Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience

Any combination of education and experience likely to provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, typically:

• One year of general clerical experience.
• One year of computer experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of:

• English usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
• Filing systems.
• Modern office methods and procedures.

Skill in:

• Report assembling.
• Telephone communication.
• Office equipment maintenance.

Ability to:

•Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs.
• Maintain confidentiality in all work-related areas.
• Maintain professionalism in daily dealings with co-workers.
• Follow oral and written directions.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships.
• Operate standard office equipment including computer terminal.
