Preschool Substitute Teacher

St. Sebastian School provides academic excellence in a Catholic, multilingual setting to prepare students to serve as faith-filled disciples in our global community.

We are located in the heart of West Los Angeles and are seeking creative, HIGHLY energetic and fun/loving Substitute Preschool Teachers for the 2017-18 school year. Teachers will be called on an as needed basis.


  • Bilingual (Spanish/English)

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, minimum 12+ ECE units to meet “fully qualified”status by Community Care Licensing.

  • Minimum of two years experience teaching preschool.

  • Must be able to work as early as 7:00 am or until 6pm closing.

  • Will need to be fingerprinted, background checked and child abuse check cleared.

  • T.B. cleared, Tdap and MMR

  • CPR & First Aid Certificate.

Skills Required:

  • Excellent classroom management and problem solving skills.

  • Have a friendly and professional disposition, lots of patience, and love children.

  • Must have great work ethics.

  • Computer skills, specifically: Microsoft word and Shutterfly.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement lesson plan to promote children’s learning (emotionally, socially, cognitively and physically).

  • Communicate with parents and principal.

  • Physically be able to squat, run, sit criss cross, and lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Monitor and assess students progress.

  • Change diapers and potty train children.

  • Dependable, reliable, responsible and accepts instructions well.

  • Team player.

  • Follow requirements and guidelines established by  the Department of Social Services Title 22.
