Office of Religious Education

​POSITION SUMMARY: 

To effectively support and administrate the work of the Office of Religious Education software development project team for the database/customer relationship management project in the roll out phase. The OREMUS software is a newly developed software application for the Office of Religious Education, parish catechetical leaders and training facilitators/Master Catechists.

​DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

All Archdiocesan employees represent the Roman Catholic Church and they are expected to conduct themselves according to the goals and mission of the Church in performing their work.

1.      Ability to learn the OREMUS software application on web and mobile and the ORE catechist formation process.

2.      Answering user help requests via phone and email (ticketing system) as the first line of support.

3.      Prioritize and schedule helpdesk requests. Escalate requests (when required) to the appropriate department.

4.      Collaborating on a support system for the OREMUS helpdesk.

5.      Gathering and synthesizing data on OREMUS helpdesk requests.

6.      Testing the OREMUS application according to test scripts in web and mobile as needed.

7.      Schedule, organize and conduct testing/training sessions with onsite and offsite users.

8.      Collaborate with in-house Applied Technology department on identified issues and updates.

9.      Coordinate the implementation of remaining and future change requests.

Requirements:

Education and Experience

Any combination of education and experience likely to provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities, typically:


1.      Experience with customer support and administration

2.      Experience with web-based and mobile application.

3.      Strong understanding of various types of software and databases.

4.      Knowledge of ticketing, troubleshooting and helpdesk

5.      Familiarity with Catholic Church culture.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


Knowledge of:


  • Archdiocesan and Church policies, procedures and organization.
  • Current word processing, spreadsheet, publishing, presentation and database software.
  • Office procedures and business etiquette.
  • English usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation. 
  • Basic workings of social media platforms in use by the office.



Skill in:


  • Typing at a minimum of 60 wpm.
  • Well versed in Microsoft Office, Access Database and Google Documents.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong in written and oral communication.  In both English and Spanish.


Ability to:

  • Demonstrate effective writing skills to summarize information and prepare correspondence independently.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Coordinate and delegate various activities with efficiency.
  • Display sensitivity to various situations and needs.
  • Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Sit for sustained periods of time on a daily basis.
  • Perform tasks requiring intermittent bending, stooping, and walking.
  • Sustain frequent movement of the fingers, wrists, hands, and arms.
