The Position

Santa Clara University is seeking an outstanding leader to serve as Director of Campus Ministry. The Director reports to the President of the University.

 

We are seeking a visionary and creative leader who can advance the University’s mission of educating the whole person through ongoing faith formation and community building. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in doing so in previous roles, and would possess significant pastoral experience and academic training.

 

As head of campus ministry, the ideal candidate will foster the religious, spiritual and liturgical needs of the entire SCU community, with a primary focus on undergraduate and graduate students. He/she will help enhance a shared appreciation of and alignment with the university’s Jesuit Catholic mission and identity.

 

The candidate will have a demonstrated ability of working across numerous stakeholder groups (at SCU, these would include the Ignatian Center for Jesuit Education, the Office of Student Life and the Jesuit Community).

 

The ideal candidate will have significant administrative experience, or possess skills that will enable him or her to learn quickly to operate as an effective administrator/manager. Administrative responsibilities include strategic planning, hiring and retaining staff, and budgeting and financial skills.
