C3 Project Manager

The Catholic Communication Collaboration (C3) Project Manager will assist the C3 management team in taking the C3 technology program mission concepts to formal initiatives and will have a lead management role in implementing projects to service those initiatives. The candidate must have an appreciation of the critical role of effective use of technology resources in education; evangelization and administration; an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; sound communication skills; and experience in cost-efficient planning and execution for quality outcomes.


Because all Archdiocesan employees represent the Roman Catholic Church, they are expected to conduct themselves according to the goals and mission of the Church in performing their work.  

  • Convenes key players on project teams, fosters strategic focus, and internal and team working relationships across the Archdiocese. 
  • Delegates, oversees or undertakes project responsibilities, as appropriate, and directs, motivates and manages work and resources involved in a project. Communicates gaps in design and sets realistic expectations on deliverables. 
  • Chairs meetings of C3 Working Group and other teams, as applicable, assists others in the facilitation of team and project meetings.  
  • Identifies potential risks and establishes communications and mitigations to address them with C3 management team. 
  • Develops and presents ideas for copy and design of marketing and publicity materials; responds to inquiries from archdiocesan locations and personnel; participates in news releases, special reports, event publicity and social media communications.
  •  Prepares and submits written reports on projects, efforts, findings, their recommendations, and other technology-related activities at Archdiocesan locations and shares knowledge and resources among locations and the C3 Technology Team.




Five or more years industry experience as a program manager within a non-profit, technology or educational/ministry environment, with a progressive record of successful delivery of complex solutions, systems or services.


  • Any combination of education and experience likely to provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, typically:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Project Management or combination of equivalent experience and education. 
  • Master’s/Advanced Degree desired 
  • Archdiocesan VIRTUS certification and fingerprinting (to be completed after offer) 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of strategic planning, project advocacy and project life cycle management. 
  • Strong willingness to take “hands on” approach, and adapt to project needs and meet deadlines; ability to work independently and collaboratively at the same time. 
  • Ability to effectively coordinate among technical, educational, and ministry teams and other Archdiocesan stakeholders.  
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, diplomatic approach, experience in dealing with confidential matters. 
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems collaboratively while working under pressure. ​ 
  • Proficiency with personal computer and software applications. 
  • Understanding of a parish/Catholic school environment, preference to current active members of a Southern California Catholic parish or school. 
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Bilingual skills in other languages, especially Spanish, desirable but not required. 
  • Valid driver license, appropriate and insured motor vehicle, ability and willingness to drive to any location within the Archdiocese (Mileage will be compensated at current IRS per-mile rate). 
  • Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.  
  • Sit for sustained periods of time on a daily basis. 
  • Perform tasks requiring intermittent bending, stooping, and walking. 
  • Sustain frequent movement of the fingers, wrists, hands, and arms.
