Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Santa Barbara seeks a people-oriented, computer-savvy, Parish Relations/Administrative Coordinator for our busy, mid-size parish. We seek a highly motivated individual with exceptional skills in organization, communication, database management, and light bookkeeping. 

The successful candidate, who will be the first contact in the Parish Office, needs to be an outgoing, personable individual with a willingness to assist parishioners and other guests of the Church. The job responsibilities include all aspects of the Parish Office, from scheduling Baptisms, Mass requests, recording Sacraments, maintaining the Parish registry to assisting with Church mailings. 

In addition, the ideal candidate will be the Bulletin Editor and assist the Pastor, Parish Priests and Business Manager as needed. 

Requirements:

  • Job related experience
  • Basic bookkeeping and organizational skills
  • Effective communication skills to interact with Pastor, Parish staff and parishioners
  • Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Publisher)
  • Windows 10
