1st Grade Teacher

Nativity Catholic School (Torrance)

Requirements:

The successful applicant will: ​


Be an active Catholic in the sacramental life of the Church and demonstrate the ability to prepare students to be practicing Catholics

Demonstrate an understanding of the unique social-emotional development of 1st grade students.

Demonstrate practical and theoretical knowledge of the academic curriculum, instructional strategies (CIP), and classroom management necessary for student success in First grade.


Promote effective collaboration between families and school; and among the Nativity staff.


Demonstrate the ability to make thoughtful, informed decisions; and the ability to teach in an environment that demands the integration of theory and practice in a Catholic environment.


The minimum requirements are:


An undergraduate degree (BA, BS) from an accredited university or college.


A California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, a California Single Subject Teaching Credential, or equivalent from another state (in process excepted).


Full-time teaching experience.       


The ability to use technology effectively and adaptive/assignable programs.

 

In addition to the above, the preferred requirements are:

An advanced degree (MA, MS) in Education. 


Primary grade teaching experience. ​
