Communications and Online Fundraising Coordinator

The Communications and Online Fundraising Coordinator will support the growth in CEF’s on-line cultivation of donors and prospects, and the development of online fundraising campaigns. Assists

and coordinates in the promotion and awareness of the organization and communicates with constituents through media relations, marketing, public relations and online and print communications.  This position supports the development team in creating communications for fund development and in coordinating special events, fundraising donor, donor cultivation and special events/projects.    


Because all Archdiocesan employees represent the Roman Catholic Church, they are expected to conduct themselves according to the goals and mission of the Church in performing their work.

Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Development:

  • Assists with designing and executing a long-term, innovative online fundraising strategy, in alignment with CEF’s overall Development plan;
  • Implements digital fundraising initiatives including e-appeals, mobile giving, peer-to-peer and or crowdfunding, as well as optimizing fundraising through the CEF website.
  • Represents CEF and works collaboratively with the ACC Digital Team regarding CEF Social Media Accounts and Web presence; and functions as a liaison with service providers and vendors (Digital office, Angelus, printers, etc.).
  • Actively monitors CEF’s website and social media online reputation.
  • Designs and produces flyers, brochures, ads, monthly newsletter, annual impact report, and other marketing materials as directed and needed by CEF.
  • Assists in promotional efforts in mediums including but not exclusive to print, web and email.
  • Finds, produces and shares stories of CEF students in various formats.
  • Update CEF’s website and social media outlets regularly.
  • Works closely with the development staff to develop creative ideas to expand CEF’s reach and support for CEF’s mission.
  • Contributes and develops cause-driven content for the web, print and social media.
  • Performs other duties and assists with special events as assigned.
  • Works with the Director of Development, and Executive Director of Operations & Programs on the design, production and distribution of the CEF annual report.
  • Assists with special online fundraising projects as needed by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles Development office; assist with supporting ADLA development efforts as needed.


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree; preferably in marketing, English/journalism, or a related field
  • 2-4 years of marketing, communications, media or public relations experience
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in a team environment and working with peers in a high-paced and high-pressure environment.
  • Strong Graphic design skills and knowledge of various applications in the Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and video production tools.
  • Creating and writing newsletter and/or annual report.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities 


  • Understanding of the Archdiocesan Catholic Schools and the needs of the students served by the Foundation preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office, navigating the Internet, and experience with relational databases,. 
  • Passion for the mission of the Foundation.


  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, grant writing experience.
  • Graphic design skills and a high comfort level with various applications in the Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and video production tools. 
  • Creative, marketing-oriented strategic and tactical thinking and problem-solving skills.




  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and make appropriate judgments about sharing information with those who have a need to know.
  • Ability to work independently with initiative and accuracy.
  • Enjoys working with a variety of social media tools and creative approach to storytelling for both online and print media.
  • Team Player:  Ability to maintain effective working relationships, show compassion and dedication; collaborate with peers for productivity and personal growth.
  • Drive throughout the 3-county areas of the Archdiocese of LA
  • Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Operate standard office equipment, digital camera and computer terminal
  • Sit for sustained periods of time on a daily basis.
  • Perform task requiring intermittent bending, stooping and walking.
  • Sustain frequent movement of the fingers, wrists, hands and arms.
