The Department of Catholic Schools of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles is accepting applications for the position of Principal of St. Anthony High School.  St. Anthony High School, located in Long Beach, California and founded in 1920, is a four-year, Catholic, college preparatory, co-educational high school, which serves students in the greater Long Beach area.   The mission of St. Anthony High School is to provide an affordable Catholic co-educational, college preparatory education to students from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds in the greater Long Beach area.  The school is committed to academic excellence and the spiritual, social, physical and intellectual development of each student within a safe, caring, faith-based community.

Reporting to the President and the Department of Catholic Schools for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, the Principal leads the faculty and staff in their ongoing efforts to provide a school community that inspires students to become morally aware, academically capable leaders who are outstanding contributors in a complex technological and global society.  The principal is the chief educational leader of the school and will provide dynamic, mission-centered leadership of academic and co-curricular programs and is ultimately responsible for all aspects of the school’s daily operation, with particular emphasis on student academic and co-curricular progress and faculty professional development and accountability.  The start date for the principal is July 1, 2019.

i.         Relatable and Trustworthy:  Communicates appropriately and effectively with all stakeholders



Minimum Qualifications:

·         Knowledgeable and practicing Catholic with a thorough understanding of Catholic school philosophy

·         Completed or is willing to complete basic catechist training  

·         Commitment to modeling the values of Catholic educational leadership

·         Master’s Degree in Educational Administration, Secondary Education, or related field OR California Administrative Services Credential

·         Three years of successful school administrative experience

Preferred Qualifications (in addition to the minimum qualifications listed above):

·         California Teaching Credential (Single Subject)

·         Master’s Degree in Educational Administration

·         Five years of successful administrative experience in a Catholic high school
