PRINCIPAL - Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, founded in 1952, is a TK through Grade 8 Catholic parish elementary school located in Pasadena, California. Enrollment is currently over 275 students with one class per grade.

Assumption strives to make each student’s educational experience unique to their needs. Through a rigorous academic program, paired with service learning and faith-based education, and technology our students graduate well prepared to face their collegiate years. Candidates must have a clear vision of and dedication to the values and philosophy of Catholic education. Candidates must understand the stewardship challenges facing Catholic schools and possess: strong management skills, curricular insights, and communication skills to ensure the long-term sustainability of the school, and demonstrate successful budgetary and fiscal management. Candidate must be willing to collaborate with colleagues in a professional learning community and work with parents to support student's academic success. Principal will also have a close working relationship with the Pastor to realize the school’s mission.

Requirements:

Requirements:

  • Practicing Catholic who is committed to Catholic education
  • Minimum 5 years successful teaching and administrative experience, at least 3 of those 5 years in Catholic education
  • Earned Master’s degree
  • California Credential (teaching and administrative)
  • Preference given to candidates with principal experience
  • Preference given to candidates with Catechist Certification

The Archdiocese of Los Angeles Department of Catholic Schools will process applicants.  The Pastor and local screening committee for Assumption B.V.M. Catholic School will select from the approved applicants and determine the final pool for interview.
