Under the direction,
management, and supervision of the Senior Program Officer, the program
coordinator will perform application review processing, income assessment, data
entry, quality control, scanning and archiving of tuition award applications.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Because all Archdiocesan
employees represent the Roman Catholic Church, they are expected to conduct
themselves according to the goals and mission of the Church in performing their
work.
- Review
and process of tuition award applications for all three cycles (15,000 – 20,000
applications annually).
- Assesses
income eligibility by reviewing all forms of income including tax returns,
government aid, etc.
- Review
and completely process a minimum of 100 applications daily
- Works
directly with parents and schools on application process at school sites within
the three counties of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
- Follows
up with and works with principals to gather all necessary documentation to
correct incomplete applications.
- Explains
program policies and procedures to parents/guardians as they come through the
applications process.
- Explains
to parents/guardians CEF’s eligibility guidelines and proof of income required
for program funding.
- Data
enters applications.
- Prepare
and assist with tuition award files (hard files and e-files)
- Scan
applications and prepare for archiving and auditing purposes.
- Assist
with designated programs as needed
- Assist
with program related mailings
- Assist
with CEF events as needed
- Assist
with logistics, setup and breakdown of all CEF On-site processing.
| Requirements:Education and Experience
Any combination of education
and experience likely to provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities,
typically:

- Bi-lingual
(English & Spanish)
- High
school diploma or equivalent
- Two+
years of work experience
- Strong
analytical and critical thinking skills
- Strong
organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines & handle multiple
tasks
- Maintain
a high level of accuracy, efficiency, and detailed orientated
- Maintain a high
level of confidentiality and display sensitivity to various situations and
needs
- Must
be fingerprinted
- Work
with a team as well as independently
- Excellent
Customer service/people skills
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Data Entry experience
- Proficient in Windows, Office Suite and PC
hardware support
- Must
adapt to an environment that promotes teamwork and collaboration
- Team player, maintain effective working
relationships
Skills in:
- Critical thinking and analytical skills
- Customer service skills
Ability to:
- Work independently with initiative
- High level of confidentiality.
- To drive to various on-site locations within
the three counties of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles
- Work flexible hours day, afternoons and/or
evenings
- Must be fingerprinted
- Work with the public
(parents/guardians/foster parents, school staff and/or school principals)
- Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
- Sit for sustained periods of time on a daily
basis.
- Perform tasks requiring intermittent bending,
stooping, and walking.
- Sustain frequent movement of the fingers,
wrists, hands and arms.
