Our classrooms are “student-centered”, that is, there is less emphasis on lecture and greater emphasis on active student participation in their own learning. Our science courses are very “hands-on” and exploratory, requiring frequent lab work and open-ended exploration leading to students learning to make their own analyses and conclusions. This position is for both college-prep Chemistry as well as Chemistry Honors .These courses provide an introduction to chemistry and will provide sufficient information for a student to continue at the college level. Topics include dimensional analysis, atomic structure, quantum mechanics, chemical reactions, compounds and bonding, states of matter, stoichiometry, thermodynamics, chemical equilibrium, and acid/base chemistry.

Minimum Requirements: B.S. Degree. Preferred Requirements: B.S. and M.S. or secondary teaching credential with 3 years teaching experience at the high school level.
