Pledge Fulfillment Specialist

Development / Called to Renew Campaign

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Pledge Fulfillment Specialist is a member of the Campaign and Development teams and will oversee, in partnership with the CDO, the implementation of the pledge fulfillment operations for nearly one-hundred thousand donors to the Archdiocese for the Called to Renew campaign.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Because all Archdiocesan employees represent the Roman Catholic Church, they are expected to conduct themselves according to the goals and mission of the Church in performing their work.

·      Communicate the steps for pledge fulfillment implementation to various audiences including but not limited to: archdiocesan leadership, individual parish leadership, and individual donors.

·      Receive, handle and transfer phone calls and messages re: Called to Renew pledges and gifts promptly and courteously. 

·      Implement strategies for engaging delinquent donors and report outcomes.

·      Work closely with campaign leadership to track and improve donor communications, fulfillment rates, electronic giving, and processing errors.

·      Lead internal staff discussion regarding donor questions and solutions and reengage delinquent donors with compassion and care.

·      Manage and respond to emails from parishes and/or donors pertaining to the campaign.

·      Coordinate with vendors, as needed.

·      Update and maintain a confidential database including individuals, corporations, and foundations.

·      Document donor interactions and track actions taken and follow-up needed in a confidential database.

·      Collaborate with other staff members to create and maintain a system-wide integration of data.

·      Format and send letters as necessary. 

·      Collect and prepare data for records and reports as needed.

·      Organize and file campaign documents regularly.

·      Attend required meetings and participate as needed.

·      Maintain a thorough understanding of the mission, goals, and priorities of the Development office and perform duties as assigned by the CDO and Executive Director of the campaign.

·      Support, promote and live the Archbishop’s pastoral values of service, stewardship, communications and excellence.

 ·      Assist with other duties as assigned. 

Requirements:

Education and Experience

Any combination of education and experience likely to provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, typically:

 

·      Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution of higher education.

·      Minimum of three (3) years of experience in major gifts, annual appeal, campaign experience, customer service, or work in a call center.

·      Preferred experience in data management, preferably with Raiser’s Edge/Blackbaud or Raiser’s Edge NXT.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

 

Knowledge of:

·      Bilingual in English and Spanish with demonstrated advanced communication skills: written, oral and listening. 

·      A background in problem solving.

 

Skill in:

·      Strong planning and organizational skills, including ability to manage complex responsibilities and multi-task.

·      Excellent technical computer skills, including advanced competency in Excel and with multiple types of databases.

·      A patient and kind demeanor for customer service interactions.

·      Strong people skills and the ability to manage multiple working relationships to achieve specific tasks on time and without error.

 

Ability to:

·      Ability to manage large projects with little supervision.

·      Ability to work effectively with clergy, religious, lay staff, volunteers, vendors and campaign counsel. Respect and support for the teachings of the Catholic Church and affinity with the overall mission of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
