San Gabriel Mission High School (SGMHS) is a college-preparatory Catholic high school located on the historic grounds of the San Gabriel Mission. Our faith-driven community provides a safe environment for young women to grow as spiritual, intellectual, creative, and athletic leaders. Our financially accessible opportunities serve a diverse and inclusive student body of local, commuter, and international students in the Greater Los Angeles area.

SGMHS is seeking a creative, collaborative, and committed individual to serve our students in their academic, college, and career goals while helping the administration support the faculty in their instruction.  Working collaboratively with the administration, faculty/staff, students, parents, and the school counselor, the Director of Curriculum/Instruction will provide curriculum leadership, that creates, implements, maintains and enhances excellence for all students in academic scholarship and achievement. The Director of Curriculum/Instruction serves as the overseer of the curriculum design and implementation to ensure alignment with the Archdiocese, state, national, and UC/Cal State learning standards. The Director of Curriculum/Instruction oversees the instructional and assessment program and is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring the professional development opportunities as well as the professional responsibilities for faculty/staff. The Director of Curriculum/Instruction works collaboratively with the advancement director to prepare and submit all grants and district funds and helps evaluate these opportunities. The Director of Curriculum/Instruction will also teach 3 sections.


Education & Experience


  • B.A./B.S.

  • Teaching Credential or equivalent

  • Classroom teaching experience

  • Some school academic/college counseling experience

  • Demonstrate knowledge of clear objectives, lesson planning, and curriculum mapping and the ability to monitor teacher ability of the above

  • Proficient at developing professional relationships within the school and the school community to enhance student achievement.

  • Demonstrated interest in and passion for working with adolescents and their parents.

  • Once hired must be fingerprinted, ADLA Virtus Trained, CPR/First Aid Certified,


  • Bilingual (Spanish)

  • Master's Degree in related field

  • Demonstrated experience with managing the ADLA STEP Process, as well as knowledge of IEPs

  • Three years of experience as a director or curriculum and instruction or related field
