Position Description

Holy Family High School seeks candidates for a part-time History/Social Studies teacher who can teach Honors Economics (Fall) and AP US Government (Spring). This person will also serve as the Athletic Director of the School. The school has a six (6) period day. The part-time teacher will teach 1 of the 5 FTE periods with the other non- instructional period/time devoted to the duties of the Athletic Director. The position is not eligible for benefits.

We seek teachers who can align themselves to and successfully deliver the mission of Holy Family High School. Ideal candidates will also have a passion for and commitment to all-girls education. The ideal candidate will also thrive in a high demand, high-energy school environment, and is able to provide a high degree of customer service. Responsibilities will include: lesson planning, instruction, grading, supervision, and communication with parents. As Athletic Director, the candidate must attend all league meetings and home sports games as well as manage the entire athletic program, including coaches. There may be other duties that are assigned by the Head of School. The social studies teacher is responsible to the Assistant Head of School for Curriculum & Instruction and accountable to the Head of School. The Athletic Director is responsible and accountable to the Head of School.


Minimum Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university recognized by the US Department of Education.
  2. Single-Subject California Teaching Credential in history/social science.
  3. High school teaching experience.

The ideal candidate will have:

  1. A passion for or commitment to Catholic, all-girls college preparatory education.
  2. Athletic Administration experience.
  3. Outstanding customer service skills.
  4. Experience teaching both college preparatory, honors and Advanced Placement courses.
  5. Master’s degree or higher

Salary and Benefits:

  1. Commensurate with education and experience on the Archdiocesan salary scale.
  2. This part-time position is not eligible for benefits
