until 3/30/2020 | Description:POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Executive
Project Officer is responsible for strategic planning and design of
innovative programs and cutting-edge communications content in the
department.
DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Because all Archdiocesan employees represent the Roman
Catholic Church, they are expected to conduct themselves according to the goals
and mission of the Church in performing their work.
- Communicating
and working closely with executive leadership of the Communications Department
--- Vice Chancellor, Chief Communications Officer, Chief Digital Officer, and
Editor- in – Chief to develop strategic goals and make recommendations for
action, including short- and long-range plans to achieve objectives.
- Conducting
feasibility analysis and producing proposals for new projects.
- Planning,
budgeting, oversight and evaluation for all aspects of specific programs and
projects, including monitoring performance metrics and budget compliance.
- Assisting
in the development of overall Communications Department budgets and monitoring
budget compliance.
- Representing
the Vice Chancellor as necessary in Archdiocesan meetings and in meetings with
the community groups and members of the public, as needed.
- Researching
and analyzing laws & public policies; political & cultural issues and
recommending courses of action, as needed.
| Requirements:Education and Experience
Any combination of education and experience likely to
provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, typically:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum
5 years of executive-level administrative and project management experience.
- Experience in contract writing and
grant writing (recommended)
- Highest standards of ethics and
confidentiality to handle sensitive information.
- Practicing Catholic (highly
preferred) with strong knowledge of teaching and practices of the Catholic
Church and current issues affecting the Church in Los Angeles and California and
in the United States.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Computer Skills:
Working knowledge with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel.
- Organization:
Appropriate in overseeing a broad range of projects.
- Financial Management
Skill in:
- Project management, Research and Analytical
skills.
- Leadership and Team-Building
- Ability to communicate effectively
and clearly.
Ability to:
- Determine priorities and meet deadlines in a
fast-paced environment and ability to drive multiple projects concurrently,
both independently and as team leader and team member.
- Communicate
effectively in written and verbal form.
- Work independently with initiative.
- Occasionally lift up
to 20 pounds.
- Sit for sustained
periods of time on a daily basis.
- Perform tasks
requiring intermittent bending, stooping, and walking.
- Sustain frequent movement of the fingers,
wrists, hands, and arms.
