Young Adult Ministry

Young Adult Ministry Vision

The Division of Young Adult Ministry in the Office of Religious Education works with parish young adult ministry coordinators, pastoral ministers, campus ministers, volunteers and young adults supporting single and married Catholics in their late teens, twenties and thirties.

Our mission is the development of leadership for young adults in the context of their particular community.  We explore, respect, and foster understandings of cultural diversity, developmental stages, human sexuality and relationships, styles of spirituality, social justice and human dignity.

We support approaches that are relevant to young adults today and offer a variety of opportunities for spiritual enrichment and reflection, leadership development, community outreach, and social networking with other young adults throughout the Los Angeles Archdiocese.

Young Adult Ministry Specialization/ Training

This two day Training opportunity/Specialization will be offered twice a year in August/September and February/March.

This specialization is designed for both adults and young adults who work in or volunteer in young adult ministry at a parish or university. This specialization gives a basic overview of how to develop and implement a young adult ministry program in your community. The session is based on the U.S. Bishop's document "Sons and Daughters of the Light " which gives a basic framework for young adult ministry.

Evenings of Prayer

Advent Evening of Prayer. An annual evening for young adults from across the Archdiocese to gather and be refreshed in the journey during Advent. It is a time to come be with friends and spend some "quiet time" reflecting about this season of waiting. It is also a great way to make new friends and renew past friendships.
