Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment
To assist the schools in providing quality academic programs and to provide for continuous school improvement, the staff provides the following services:
- the study of all curriculum areas and the development of archdiocesan curriculum guidelines consistent with Church teachings and the various California Frameworks;
- implementation of curricular/administrative inservice opportunities for school personnel;
- formulation and implementation of curricular policies and guidelines;
- collaboration with W.A.S.C. and W.C.E.A. in the process of self-study and accreditation of schools;
- development of guidelines and resources and assistance in implementing student personnel services and co-curricular activities;
- Facilitation of participation in the Title II Mini-Grant and Statewide Workshops
For Elementary Schools
- coordination and review of the Systems Testing Program;
- coordination of Early Education Programs;
- coordination of the Writing to Read Program
- coordination of the ACRE Testing Program (Assessment of Catholic Religious Education)
For Secondary Schools
- regularly scheduled visits to review instruction/assessment;
- supervision of the implementation of the W.A.S.C. recommendations;
- assistance regarding student personnel services, co-curricular activities
