Personnel and Administrative Services
To identify Catholic administrators and teachers and to support them in carrying out their personnel and administrative responsibilities, the staff provides the following services:
- development of a principal recruitment and selection process, incorporating the use of the SRI Principal Perceiver instrument;
- development of professional growth opportunities for administators;
- direction and guidelines for determining salary scales for both certified and classified employees;
- consultation regarding legal, human resource, and insurance matters;
- development of guidelines for classified personnel practices;
- updating principals on new regulations from the Commission on Teacher Credentialing and on state and federal laws pertaining to teachers;
- an up-dated Administrative handbook for elementary and secondary schools;
- facilitation of conflict resolution/management and use of grievance procedures.
For Elementary Schools
- orientation for all principals new to the Archdiocese; inservice for all first year principals who are enrolled in the Principal Internship Program;
- recruitment of teachers;
- initial and continuing inservice for all first year teachers who are enrolled in the Teacher Internship Program;
- facilitation of the distribution and completion of principal/teacher applications and the furnishing of names to principals for possible placement;
- assistance to pastors in identifying, interviewing and selecting principals
For Secondary Schools
- identification of future administrators
- regularly scheduled visits on organizations/publics;
- approval of requests for employment of certificated and classified personnel;
- inservice for first year teachers
