Bringing the Gospel to Life: A Parish Social Ministry Checklist

_____PSM is budgeted and staffed or volunteered

_____Catholic Social Teaching is taught and lived

_____Local, National and Global issues are offered in prayer and worship

_____Parish bulletins and communications include social mission updates and educational material

_____Parishioners are invited to share their issues and concerns

_____The parish is connected to the resources in CSM office, U.S. Catholic Conference, etc.

_____Parish Social Ministry has designated someone to receive and coordinate CSM materials

_____A collection of social ministry resources is available in parish

_____Local, National, and Global collection weekends are promoted (e.g. Campaign for Human Development, Catholic Relief Services, etc.)

_____Operation Rice Bowl and Work for Human Hands crafts are promoted

_____Parishioners with a natural calling to social ministry gather to pray, plan and act

_____The Parish is connected to an opposite economically endowed or low income parish

_____Parish Spiritual Direction includes personal and social dimensions of human person/spirit

_____Social Ministry is affirmed, supported, mainstreamed and recognized.
