Description:
Calvary Cemetery in Santa Barbara was dedicated in 1896. It is the Archdiocese's second oldest cemetery and was founded by a Jesuit priest and botanist, Father Stockman. The selection of the site on North Hope Avenue allow the towering Santa Ynez Mountains to provide a dramatic backdrop for this cemetery.

Among the many features at Calvary are the Stations of the Cross. Miniature statuary help us visualize what happened as Jesus carried His Cross the one-quarter mile from the Praetorium of Pilate to Calvary.
