The Office of Religious Education in the San Pedro Pastoral Region works with pastoral ministers, parish catechetical leaders, catechists and volunteers who reside in Long Beach and Southern Los Angeles County. Our mission is to further support and resource their catechetical ministries. Our area of service includes: regional congress, monthly gatherings, in-services and days of prayers with leaders in the parish; formal parish visits; and offering a variety of catechist formation centers and specializations throughout the year.

Calendar of Gatherings for Director/Coordinator of Religious Education
These monthly gatherings provide ongoing professional development, faith formation, and networking opportunities to the catechetical leaders who strife to be effective ministers in their parishes.
Professional Development Series for Catechetical Directors and Coordinators
An indepth 45+ hours of study of the Role of the Parish Catechetical Leader, Program Administration, Goal Setting, Communication Skills, Conflict Management, Budget and Time Management, Recruiting and Sustaining Volunteer ministers and much more.
Silent Directed Retreat
A week-long retreat for all adults in ministry. Join other participants in this chance to take a break from the hustle of ministry and spend some quality time with God. You will also meet daily with a spiritual director and attend other activities to help you on your journey. The program is held at Mary and Joseph Retreat Center and the cost is $395 (all inclusive).
