Mercy Volunteer Corps
Mercy Volunteer Corps (MVC), a program sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy, invites lay women and men to compassionate service with people who are economically poor or marginalized. MVC places volunteers at sites in the U.S. for a one year commitment, and in Guyana, South America, for a two year commitment. Volunteers embrace compassionate service, social justice, spirituality, and a simple lifestyle in community. All living expenses are provided including housing, stipends, medical insurance, and transportation.

City Year - Los Angeles
City Year is a 10-month service opportunity for young adults under age 25. Corps members serve in schools full time as tutors, mentors, and leaders of after-school programs. Members may serve locally in Los Angeles or in cities across the U.S., and receive a stipend and other benefits as well as an education award to use toward college or for paying off student loans.
