 Youth Ministry

The Youth Ministry Division in the Office of Religious Education is committed to assisting those in ministry with youth, ages 10-18, in both parish and school settings.  Our mission is to is to nurture and develop the faith life of our youth by equipping leaders with the knowledge, skills, practical tools and techniques for creative ministry, including confirmation.

Additionally, we provide training and certification for new youth ministers as well as hiring and personnel support for parishes in search of youth ministers. At the archdiocesan level, youth ministry provides retreats and other spiritual enrichment experiences for youth.

“Youth ministry is the response of the Christian community to the needs of young people

and the sharing of the unique gifts of youth with the larger community”

(USCCB, A Vision of Youth Ministry, p. 6)
