 Youth Ministry

 The Youth Ministry Division in the Office of Religious Education is committed to assisting those in ministry
with youth, ages 10-18, in both parish and school settings.  Our mission is to is to nurture and develop the faith life of our youth by equipping leaders with the knowledge, skills, practical tools and techniques for creative ministry, including confirmation.
Additionally, we provide training and certification for new youth ministers as well as hiring and personnel support for parishes in search of youth ministers. At the archdiocesan level, youth ministry provides retreats and other spiritual enrichment experiences for youth.

What's Coming Up:  


Thursday, April 4, 2019 (Ventura) or Saturday, April 6, 2019 (South Pasadena).  Learn how to be a faith companion to youth today, how to guide youth in discernment, how to help young people pray, and how to empower communities to accomany young people.  This workshop is for any adult serving in ministry with adolescents (clergy, pastoral associates, youth ministry coordinators, youth ministry/Confirmation team members, parish catechetical leaders, catechists, choir directors, etc.).  Register here

A ministry formation program for those in ministry with younger and older adolescents, both in parish and school settings.  Eight courses are offered over a two-year period to equip leaders with the knowledge, skills, practical tools and techniques needed for creative and comprehensive ministry with youth. The Summer 2019 courses will be held June 8-11 and July 13-14.  Further details can be found on the flyer or on the main NCP website.

CLI is a leadership program for high school teens to grow in awareness of their gifts and talents, learn new leadership skills and principles in light of our Catholic faith, practice what they are learning by planning and leading part of each day's program, and experience Christian community that supports growth as disciples of Jesus called to serve others.  While it is not a retreat, CLI is grounded in our Catholic faith and includes experiences of prayer and liturgy.  CLI will take place July 21-26, 2019 at DePaul Evangelization Center in Montebello.  Applications packets will be available mid-March.
