 Victims' Ministry

Our Victims' Ministry provides “Help, Hope, and Healing” to the victims of violent crime and their families.  We offer:
•    Referrals
•    Spiritual Care
•    Pastoral Accompaniment
•    Education on Victim’s Rights
•    Explanation of Funding Resources
Partnered with the Dolores Mission, the Victims’ Ministry also offers a violent crime survivor support group provides the victims of our communities with a safe environment, where they can heal together.  We touch many lives as we provide a place of solace for the great number of victims affected by violent crimes committed each day.   We also provide childcare so participants can attend the meetings.  Per request of the group, we have incorporated a Victims’ Survivors mass that began this month and will continue every first Sunday of the month at Dolores Mission Church.  We walk with the survivors and help them cope with their grief.  While we feel our support group has been extremely valuable, we pray for the day when groups like ours will no longer be necessary.  However, while violence still exists, we will continue to bring the healing hands of God to our broken communities.

The Circle of Healing is a program of the Office of Restorative Justice’s Victims’ Ministry and Families of the Incarcerated.  This program unites families of victims/survivors of violent crimes with families of offenders in a neutral arena, encouraging the sharing and release of pain caused by the violent circumstances each has had to face.  The Circle of Healing support group seeks to provide reconciliation and restoration to these families, thus bringing those two aspects to society at large.
We are available to visit parishes, assist with the formation of victims’ support groups, and provide educational programs.
