April 25-26, 2009: Privately Directed Retreat
Each year the Spirituality Center sponsors a privately directed retreat on the Doheny Campus, MSMC.
In a privately directed retreat the retreatant meets with his/her retreat director after each prayer period to receive guidance and suggested input for prayer. This input is usually based on scripture texts that follow a given theme. During the direction session, the retreatant gives the retreat director an account of his/her inner experiences and responses during and outside of the prayer periods. The director listens with the purpose of helping the retreatant to hear God, not so much in words, but in the various movements in his/her life. During this two-day retreat the retreatant is expected to spend several periods of time in prayer. The prayer periods are provided within the schedule.
You will be directed by an intern director during this retreat. These intern directors, as part of their training, are required to direct a retreat under the supervision of an experienced retreat director approved by the Spirituality Center.
There is no fee; however, donations are gratefully received.
