Pomona Catholic School is a small college preparatory community, with co-ed 6-8th grade middle school classes, and all-girls’ high school classes. We are now accepting applications from individuals who seek a position teaching math and science to students in Grades 6-8.

We desire an experienced, innovative, and passionate Middle School teacher willing to work hard to bring learning to life and collaborate with a professional learning community in a supportive school environment.  The teacher will work collaboratively with the math/science department chairperson to plan and design curriculum maps and lessons that are engaging, hands-on, inquiry-based, and integrated with technology.  Working together, the two math teachers will be able to effectively run small, differentiated groups, use manipulatives, and deepen student understanding through inquiry, application to real world problems, and opportunities to solve problems in multiple ways. The successful candidate  must  1) be willing to work collaboratively with the middle-and- high school team of teachers  2) partner with parents to communicate student successes and areas of growth 3) demonstrate effective classroom management and discipline. Faculty members model their Catholic faith in words and actions.  As such, faculty members are passionate about what they do, the students they teach and mentor, and the school community.   Ideal applicants should be open to professional growth and committed to participating in a Catholic education and must demonstrate evidence of effective communication, collaboration, and aptitude with educational technology.



·       ​Minimum of 3 years teaching in mathematics, preferably at the Middle School Level

·       Math Credential and/or Multiple Subject Credential

·       Experience with differentiation and engagement

·       Strong Classroom Management Skills

·       Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

·       Ability to be a learner, put in time to plan and collaborate after school

·       Willingness to take on an adjunct duties

·       Technology skills (specifically on an iPad) and ability to integrate technology into the instructional experiences




·       Masters’ degree

·       Training and Experience in Thinking Maps, Differentiated instruction, and Core Instructional Practices (CIP)

·       Active Catholic​
